Founded, officially, in 2025 NOT TO BE REPRODUCED is John-William Watsons independent devising and performance company. Created out of a desire to, stand up, walk around and stretch their legs (in a metaphorical contemporary-dance-theatre kind of way) it’s a space for Watson & Co(llaborators) to explore new, bigger, sillier, and more epic stories on stage.

At NOT TO BE REPRODUCED, we delve into the strange and the surreal, crafting narratives that challenge conventional perspectives.
The stories we tell weave together elements of fantasy and reality, creating experiences that are as thought-provoking as they are whimsical and relatable. Infused with Watson’s distinct flavour of silliness and humour, we consistently approach even the most existential themes with a little wink and a nudge.
Now, whilst we love getting our teeth stuck into the deeper truths of the human experience, who doesn’t am I right? We also love revelling in the knee-slapping absurdity of it all; inviting audiences from all walks of life to engage with our characters and themes.
This combination ultimately makes for a good old night out, creating worlds on stage that are not only “clever and unexpected [but] also genuinely funny.” - The Stage

My work sits on the borderline of the most bland, ordinary scenarios and the big ole questions that keep us up at night, like trying to imagine what’s beyond the universe’s current point of expansion, whilst waiting for your dog to nip one off in the park.”
